well I would like to think it was an accident. Cannot imagine someone leaving a note otherwise, though stranger things have happened.

I think the note thing isn't new. Seems like I remember someone leaving a note on their car at the lode with "stereo broken", but someone still took it and left a "I can fix it" note.

um, yeah. since it is vandalizing and theft. the intent was the same, whether it was $16 or $1600. the thief didn't have any idea how much they would get when they tipped the box.

Wasn't it just a waiver box? Can't we just get another? I mean, whats done is done, and without a vandal to thrash, there's not even any fun to be had.
New box: $15
