Thanks Snowpuppy, I was about to post that too. It can mean a lot to a grieving owner to have a body to bury (rather than pieces).

yeah, praying for the animal was an option, I ended up putting it in a plastic bag and leaving it with some stupid chick who came out of her house and said
stupid chick wrote:Did you hit the cat, oh, well I was talking on my cell phone then saw it in my rear view mirror, I might have hit it but I don't know
I did knock on the door of the guy she thought it belonged to, but he was not home

where did these sensitive bones come from?
and praying for something dead seems a bit wierd. the cat sinned by being in the road, unless kramp drove into the dude's yard to seek it out.

cats clearly don't have soul's and thus cannot sin piggie.

i ran over a baby prairie dog/ ground squirrel thing the other day. it still wasn't dead but then someone else squashed him right after me. i would have probably stopped and let my dog eat it otherwise. i don't know if i could bring myself to killing it myself but that is the most humane thing to do.

My vote would be to take the carcus (dead or alive) to the nearest chinese buffet. Could maybe trade it for a pint of fried rice

If it wasn't dead, I would have stopped and finished the job myself. I did that to a chipmunk my dog had caught that wasn't dead yet.

I couldn't just drive by. I would stop and do whatever the situation warranted. If it was suffering, I would rush it to my vet and have it euthanized. Unless I had my gun on me and no one was looking. I rushed a baby bunny that one of my dogs skinned alive to my vet who immediately euthanized it for me. (The sound of a baby bunny screaming is very eerily human, gah!) I feel bad that I prolonged his suffering by about 15 minutes, but I had to finish off a few birds that my cats from a former life tortured but didn't kill. I don't have the fortitude to kill with my bare hands and even smashing them with a brick really sucked.
People really shouldn't let their cats roam outdoors and this kind of thing wouldn't happen.
