Mr.s Ynot doesn't climb. Anything. not even a step ladder. We went hiking once to an arch in the gorge. She freaked out when the trail skirted a drop off.

that's what you want climbin 'to be huh?

My wife freaks out and cries when I take her climbing. Now she is just an occasional belay slave....

I took my wife out once and had her to belay me on American Crack. This more or less meant my intentions were to solo it. I went to the top of the wide section placed a piece then had her lower me . Then went through all of the motions of how to lower and how to catch. After she assured me that she knew what was up I sent the route. She is pretty savy so I figured she had it. I get to the top and place some draws to lower from I ask her to lower me she looks at me with a blank face and asks "How?". So needless to say I rapped down and we haven't climbed together since. The feeling is mutual.
My girlfriend however loves to climb.

Its refreshing to see someone who has their priorities in order.

my wife climbed more when we lived in the flatlands..she loved the social aspect of training in a gym with other girls. alas, she has this uncanny ability to be well rounded and have many hobbies in her life. So , climbing with her is hit and miss, but I love it when she is psyched.
