Quite possibly the best 8 in the Red, in terms of full experience, is Lunatic Fringe. Pay no attention to the R rating... it wouldn't even merit a PG anywhere else.

1 set of nuts.

without that everything else is pointless.

I Like the Fortress Wall the best so far.
My second time to the RED will be the Rocktoberfest weekend. I am also a new trad leader and plan to climb that Saturday morning @ Fortress. Snake is a great route as well as the Calypso routes in the area. let me know if you will be there maybe we can hook up for a route or two.

Roadside is more a #2 camalot eater than #3...I use only one #3. Nuts would be pretty run-out on that one I'd think, but creativity does one wonders thats for sure.
FYI my crux piece is passive...but way bigger than any nut I've seen (discounting the one's I've seen on the board).

As for the OP...I'd gotten the same recommendation on whiteout. As for 7's, my faves have been (I'm sure I'm forgetting some):
Roadside, Father&Son, Environmental Impact
They're roughly the same size so thus my gravitation to them.

When I started climbing there was this "Classic Climbs" list on Jason Burton's site. I think that list was a huge motivator for me cause it gave me a mission to climb all the classics. I think it would be cool to have a link to some lists on the front page.

sorry for the confusion. should read: 1 set of balls.

without that everything else is just useless.

i think most of the others are good suggestions as well as:
good tang
bombs bursting
snake (#1)
wal-martification of trad
jewel pinnacle
into the purple valley
adventures of the leper nurse
