check out these balls of hematite in a place we call the "moqui marble burial grounds" near escalante, UT.



one theory is that the ore contained in the sand in a shallow sea was balled up by the heat of a meteoric impact... cool.

They look like very large sheep droppings. Luckily without the odor.
