if McCain carries but one demographic it will be Black conservatives, the situation presented with voting for a black candidate is outweighed by the fact that obama is one of the most liberal members of congress- with the stupidity of LBJ in domestic and the lunacy of carter in foreign policy realms- good riddance to Bush- but like the dude in Utah- he didn't cut off his other arm just to offset the fact he had to cut one

So, what's in it for Karl? Whom is he representing currently? He is someone who only cares about promoting "his team", even at the cost of severe damage to our nation. So, who is "his team" in this race? (Remember, this is the guy who used the political rise of the religious right to get what he wanted. At the same time, that rise was harmful to his father, who was gay. What a self-serving piece of shit.)
Towards the end of the Democratic primaries, Rove was going around saying that Clinton would be the stronger candidate. I believe that he knew full well that if Clinton had been the Dem's candidate it would have helped to solidify the Republican base against her, and that Obama would better challenge McCain for the critical middle-third of the voting population. In other words, Karl was more than happy to lie to get what he wants.
One interesting thing about that "op-ed" was that his criticism of McCain seemed more effective and more damning. Karl had to pull out a bunch of weak, statistics-based arguments about Obama, and in the end, his attempt to criticize Obama was so weak that he had to prop himself up with the lie that Obama is the "most liberal member of the Senate." What is Karl gaining by going after McCain?
(All in all, that was some weak shit. If anyone is hesitant to waste time reading it, don't.)

Actually, the article was right on point across the board, and I believe, is worth a glance. Without having to go too far into detail about the specific economics, he pointed out why windfall taxes are a bad idea. He also commented on the criticism of the energy industry for not investing in alternative energy sources... and he has a point, why should they?
I know people have questions about his motivations, I fully understand that. Being a hypocrite doesn't invalidate his main point that both candidates are spouting populist economic rhetoric and are promoting flawed policies.
The last paragraph, that was just pure politics though. Not a surprise that he takes a dig at a Democrat and keeps parroting the far right party line about McCain not being conservative enough. Still doesn't make the rest of the article invalid...
Tomdarch, I think this article is intended to weaken McCain more than anything else. I am guessing that the far right wants Obama to win and pull a Jimmy Carter... thus ensuring a return to the right in both the Congress and the White House soon after. Honestly, he's probably laying the groundwork for another Romney run in four years.
Larry, as an aside... are you a libertarian? I'm honestly just curious.

Of course they think we are stupid. The majority of the voting population is stupid. The shear number of people addicted to reality TV told them that.
