Yeah, the Galls are no longer involved with the store. The new owner is Richard Kassar; he also owns an outdoor store in Cincinnati called The Benchmark Outfitters. He's a really cool guy and has turned PGs around. He has also decided to do a donation type thing with, I believe, 3 different colors of the Keen Newport H2 sandals. You can choose to donate something like 10% of the price of the sandals to either the Sierra Club or RRGCC, so more ways to help out!!! I'm not positive about those exact numbers, but check it out!!

It'll be a good chunk of change (~20), but I'll get the details out later when the sale starts.

Worth a re-cap ...

Tania:

I won't buy from them because I don't like the atmosphere in the store. The salespeople wanna talk your ear off and wanna act like we're best buds or something. I'm kinda odd when it comes to sales and I don't like high pressure environments. I know what I want and a fair price for the item. It seemed to me that the management there wanted all the salespeople to make the customers buy something, even though the customer wasn't interested. I didn't like being pressured.

Maybe PG's has changed, but I find J&H is a lot less of a pressured environment and I like it better. They have all the things I need and none of the pressure.

I think it is cool that they are willing to donate money to the coalition, and maybe I'll try them again. Who knows...

I would like to point out that Benchmark, the new owners of Phillip Gall's, is a long time supporter of the RRGCC. In the many times I have been in Benchmark it has always been a layed back place.
