Bicep Injury

Post by Artsay »

I've been feeling some tenderness in the lower part of my bicep (elbow side) for the past few weeks and yesterday I pushed it too far in the gym. Now it's really sore. Anyone have this before? Do you climb through it or can that cause a bad tear? Is there a way to wrap the area?

I have strained that part of my bicep before as well bouldering. I just had to take it easy for a while. It seemed like it took a longer time to heal fully then other tweaks I have had.

I usually climb through injuries with tape, heat, ice, and Ibuprofen unless it's really bad. I don't think this is really bad but it started off as mild and now it's worse so I don't want to *really* make it worse by pushing it too much. Just wondering who's experienced this before and healing times, etc....

Owy! I hurt mine once, but it was so covered in fat, the doctor couldn't find it!

I hope you feel better soon. The PTs I work with say to ice, then heat, and rest a while.
What I love about running is you can meditate while running. It's a peaceful place.

You should eat some ben and jerry's - and you can hold the cold carton on the injured area - Or if you REALLY want to feel healthier - use a bag of frozen veggies...that always works good when there are no ice packs to be found. You should also book a weekend at a spa and get some nice massage and hot tub action going....you should be good to go in no time if you follow the above directions.

Me too, but I use ibuprofen instead of Aleve.
