Japan

Post by tomdarch »

I'm going to be in Japan for the last two weeks of March. My sister is teaching in a small town north of Nagoya, so she's my excuse to get over there. Technically I'm there to see modern and traditional architecture (it's my job - bummer, eh?). I've managed to track down some leads on the web and read the magazine articles, but I'm wondering if anyone here has any personal leads on any climbing on the main island. Also, if anyone has any suggestions on hotels, restaurants, attractions, etc.... (I don't have the web skilz of Merrick, but if I can hook up at cyber cafes, I'll try to post some pics on my site while I'm there)

Japan

I was in Southern Japan for two years. We climbed around Nagasaki. I took a 50 footer there, lost a lot of skin. Evertime my partner tells the story, the fall gets father, I think it's up to 100' now.

Last time I was in Joshua Tree there was a group from Nagoya(sp) that climbed all the time there. Good luck and have fun, the Japanese people are really friendly, for the most part.
