Yeah, sorry. I was kinda busy - not enough time to really develop the themes or flesh them out with supporting materials.

I've been around St. George, but I didn't spend any time in the town - what's it like? (It was exciting, though, to realize that I went through the town that 'requires' everyone in town to have a gun!)

I thought about moving... in my own ego these are how I compared the climbing in (around) the cities I concidered:

1. Knoxville
2. Evansville
3. Lexington
4. Nashville
5. Louisville
6. Indy
7. STL

Knoxville is the best, need I say more?

Evansville is close to SoIll, close to the Red, close enough to So Tenn, and on top of Hunter's and Kings (where much sport development is currently going on).

Lexington is a walk to The Red, nice...

Nashville, kind of like Evansville, but with more bars and less family.

It would really be nice to move out west, but lets be realistic. For some people leaving family behind just isn't an option.

i agree. luckily for me I'm first generation American with no relatives outside my immediate family in the US. my brother lives in Springdale, UT (ie Zion N.P.) so moving west would actually bring me closer to him.

Andy. Why Knoxville and not Chatanooga?
I try to be a good man but all that comes
of trying is I feel more guilty.

Knoxville is closer to the Red and right next to the Obed. Chattanooga is closer to bouldering and trad climbing but a bit of a haul to the Red.

At least that's why I'd choose Knoxville.

Knox or Chatt ? Chattavegas all the way. If your going on a weekend trip to the Red from the south whats another hour and a half or so. I guess the Obed is a little closer to Knox but Chatt has so much to offer as far as climbing(trad, sport and bouldering) and imo is a much cooler/hipper town. I have lived in both, was born in Chatt and grew up 30 minutes from Knox. I would move to Chatt again in a heartbeat, it would take a huge job offer to move back to Knox.

Knoxville is also closer to the NC areas as well. So, more summer options. I think Chattanooga is a cooler town though. I would move there or Asheville pretty easily.
