Where in the world is Merrick?

Red Rocks is great other than the camping. $10 bucks a night per site is pretty pricey. Does anyone know where decent free camping is ? Other than Walmart or the casino parking lots.

you can always try black velvet--I really doubt that the rangers drive back there to check for rogue campers.

we thought of that but figured that the gas (2 bucks a gallon) back and forth from out there would add up to not much less than the price of camping. we have asked like a million people but no one has a clue to free camping. parking lots it is, i guess.
