I didn't say you did. I mentioned a "trend," which I saw long before your post and long before this particular thread. Your post merely inspired mine.

And "open-minded" is a particular state of mind, so you're essentially saying that you don't mind having a discussion with people that believe the same as you. My feeling is that an "open-minded" attitude that does not respect the validity of belief systems that are held without question is, in fact, rather closed-minded.

I am singularly unimpressed with the pervasive liberal insistence that one must be "open-minded," and that the truth is relative and one way of believing is just as good as another. Their contentious and bellicose reaction to those who genuinely do believe differently than them is a glowing tribute to the hypocrisy and snobbery that underlies their position.

your definition of an "open-mind" and mine are quite different. To me an open mind is one that is receptive to ideas which are different or new, willing to consider them and potentially change or at least shift currently held opinions.

Believe what you want but science requires data and proof, not belief. You people have church all the time and can teach your own type any kind of lunacy you want. There's no reason to force your superstitions on the rest of our children. And your kids don't have to take biology to graduate. I'm pretty sure chemistry meets up with Biblical readings... except for the walking on unfrozen water part...

And JB, quit apologizing... unless you're one of these people that actually supports forcing Creationism or Intelligent Design or other idiocy into public schools. Then you're forgiven because you're a fool.
