So Here's the deal... If you ask any Christian whose "belief system" was "more correct", You would find that most people on here who espouse Christianity. They (the Christians) would come down firmly on my side. Which is the correct side. Not saying that I am infallibal but saying that I seek out what is true.

that monkey/owl/fish thing was so stupid....I mean really. I am not a monkey talking to an owl about a fish. I am a sinner who found forgiveness talking to another sinner who needs forgiveness. We are all sinners here. Whether forgiven in need of forgiveness....all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.....

Ultra... Even Jesus spoke at length using parables.
Matthew 13:10-17
Then the disciples came and said to him, "Why do you speak to them in parables?" And he answered them, "To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given. For to him who has will more be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who has not, even what he has will be taken away. This is why I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand. With them indeed is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah which says: `You shall indeed hear but never understand, and you shall indeed see but never perceive. For this people's heart has grown dull, and their ears are heavy of hearing, and their eyes they have closed, lest they should perceive with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and turn for me to heal them.' But blessed are your eyes, for they see, and your ears, for they hear. Truly, I say to you, many prophets and righteous men longed to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.

Yep and that's why I think Mgad's testimony is powerful because he shares his personal experience of how he came to know God and how God revealed him/her/it-self to Mgad. I am inspired way more by a personal experience of God than someone quoting me Bible verses.Meadows wrote:Good point, Rhunt - it's the sales technique and persuasiveness of the person knocking on your door. So it can be God, Joseph Smith, a new David Koresh ...
Funny things is...I wonder what might happen if we were to preserve Mgad's testimony, then maybe in a thousand years many people will be "....climbing a fire tower, the kind with the telephone type ladder with the poles sticking out the sides, I was above the trees...having in and out of the body experiences...and all I just knew that God was real. I grabbed the tower and said I believe in God over and over again. I believe He saved my life."
Much like what we have done with the modern Bible today.

There you go quoting the Bible again to a bunch of non-believers. Why should they care that some book says they are "sinners"Ultra wrote:that monkey/owl/fish thing was so stupid....I mean really.
