You mean God doesn't hate homosexuals? Now where am I going to throw all my anger? Know any good porn shops or abortion centers? Heck, I'll even settle for a reformed baptist congregation to heckle.
You can hate me. There's a meeting at 6 on 3rd street.

you got to start somewhere else first.

Share with them how God stepped in and intervened in your life, how God became real to you apart from what is written in the Bible.
Good point, Rhunt - it's the sales technique and persuasiveness of the person knocking on your door. So it can be God, Joseph Smith, a new David Koresh ...

alan, evolution and christianity are mutually exclusive. not all christians are as awful as you think. i am sorry you have been so wounded by my kind. the unfortunate fact is that we all fuck everything up. probably even those crazy kooks who wrote the bible. maybe you're just joking around though, picking fun at christians without animosity.

mqad, somewhere back there you said that I didn't like you. I never said that. I said that i thought it was funny that you use the word heck. I think made-up words that christians use are funny. That doesn't mean i don't like you. In fact, i think you're pretty (edited to remove the made up word "darn") cool and it sounds like you've lived an amazing journey... you've started to get a bit "roiled" yourself in recent posts though.

I think it's weird how our automatic response to the responses in these discussions is to put up a strong defense and then attack back. we read everything with an eye toward the other person attacking, baiting, or otherwise infringing upon us. I don't see this as the case. I imagine most everyone here is posting with an ear toward understanding one another. by page 10, we hit passive agressive mode. ah well.

Your wife will love the 2nd one. Yes, it's about the rug ... we must do away with people who own special climbing rugs. Oh damn, I'm one of them!!!

pigsteak wrote:Squeeze, how does the Catholic church take to you marrying a dude who is christian/muslim/buddhist/yingyang/harikhrishna/yogiberra/sport climber? Don't they have "issues" with it, and is your personal salvation on the line for taking such a wild ride?
Why would they have issues with it? I'm the one marrying him. All they wanted to know was if he's baptized. The church does not give us the sacrament of matrimony, we give it to one another with God as our witness. I don't think my "personal salvation's on the line for taking such a wild ride", I personally think it's a beautiful thing - the melding of two different beliefs and cultures.

God, I'm in such denial!  But hey, it works for both of us!
