Sorry for all the muddy quotes but I want to pipe in...

LLR...I am a Christian and I can pretty much garantee we would not agree on much. It is my belief that the Bible is not the infallible "word of God" yet a wonderful sacred text of the experinces of God's people in ancient times. I bet we don't agree about that..yet I am still a Christain. I do not take the literal fundamental conservative approach to the Bible as you do...I take a more liberal critical approach to the Bible...yet we are both still Christians.

Also "telling" what you think the Bible says(your interpretation) is a form of judgement...be careful

Meadows, JB was playing with ideas and I think that by the last line he was saying that he wasn't attacking you. Just being sarcastic in regards to much of the entirity of the discussion.

this is exactly the problem: one group thinks it's better than the other.

there are plenty of christians, muslims, jews out there who have done incredibly good things and incredibly bad things. at the same time, there are plenty of non-religious people who have done just as much good and bad. we do the same thing with the climbing community.. it's no better than the rest of society. we're all proud and biased. pointing fingers or making broad accusations of groups isn't going to get us anywhere.. open discussion will.

it doesn't necessarily "get" me but i have to say my first reaction is a bad one. though i appreciate the thought and the fact you would take the time to consider me (or whomever) when praying, my thought is this: please stop asking jesus to show me the love and respect you should be showing me yourself.

it's really not anything against you or meant to be mean but i think it's a useful idea that can help people make their actions reflect their beliefs and thoughts.
