scin and i went for our buddy run tonight as planned. we ran around campus and down nicholasville road for plenty of red light action. red lights actually became fun once we got our groove down. we'd stop join hands while facing each other, then hop side to side on each foot looking like football players when they run through the tires. when it turned green, scin and i would both jump straight up in the air as high as we could 3 times! on our last jump we'd thrust our pelvises into each other, then high five, and continue our jogging. such fun! will you join us cassio923?

That's fair. I'm looking for more like 2:30-2:45, but still. Sorry for the flame, mate, something really got my hackles up.

I took your recommendation and bought the Jack Daniel's running book yesterday. Looking forward to reading it. From the sample pages on Amazon it looked pretty good. The statements from the olympian runner are insane (dude loved 200-300 mile weeks!).

cassio..there aren't many mortals able to pull off 2:30-2:45....but I commend those with the work ethic and genes to do that. That's sub 6 minute pace for 26 miles...insane! no worries on the flame...pigsteak deserves a good flame. I, too, plan on picking up that Daniels book....thanks for the insight.

What is the best way to train cardio? Is there an optimal heart rate for a number of minutes or is the fastest heart beat possible for the longest time possible the best?

What a multi-tasker that Jack Daniels is!

In all serious-ness...I need to pick up some training books since I have my first marathon scheduled this winter. I hate running while I'm running but damn it feels good when you're done. I suck too. Just getting to 12 minute miles. Does that impress anyone? :|
