Bail gear on Twinkie
Bail gear on Twinkie
Someone told me that they bailed on some webbing and draws on Twinkie. I found a few draws and a sling on Twinkie that I thought they must have bailed on. Someone else told me they thought it was fixed. Does anyone know which it is?
The only fixed gear that I know of is a big quick link around the fourth of fifth bolt which you'd use if you were lowering to clean the draws. Believe me you don't want to take the swing from the 2nd bolt from the anchors. I think my ass imprint is still on the tree that's about 60 out from the climb. Sorry tree.
P.S. clean Twinkie on TR.

I feel your pain man. Seriously. I've still got the mark on my hip from that ride about two weeks ago. It was almost totally dark when I made the swing and my belayer heard, "Whee....*thud* FUCK!" It was pretty impressive to see afterward.
I did see some red webbing that had grown into a tree fork near the top but you'd have to swing back to get to it. What's the deal with that?
Can somebody give me some beta on how to use that screw biner to clean? I was trying to figure that how to do it without going direct and untieing my knot with on only one bolt.

Ticking is gym climbing outdoors.
If you pull up slack, tie a figure 8 on a bite, and clip it into your belay loop, you're essentially on lead from the last bolt. You can then untie and pass the rope through the quick link.marathonmedic wrote:Can somebody give me some beta on how to use that screw biner to clean?
