Over the past month, I've developed some kind of fucked up vision problem with my right eye. There is a gray spot in the middle of anything I look at with my right eye. The damn opthamologist doesn't know if it is this rare disorder or that rare disorder. SO I go in for a follow up on Friday and they decide to bust out some laser procedure called Photodynamic therapy. This involves an IV and a contact lens about the size of the .5. They told me in wouldn't hurt. I've been in PAIN until about 10 minutes ago. I thought they had scratched my cornea. No the bozzos just hadn't got all the goo they used on my eye out. It had hardened to a sand like consistency.
Also I'm now a vampire, due to the medicine they use I'm not allowed out in daylight till Wednesday.

No they aren't. All doctors are unassailable and their opinions are beyond the understanding of mere mortals. Did YOU go to medical school? Everyone here who went to medical school, raise your hand. That's what I thought. Just do what you are told.

People give Doctors a little too much credit for being all knowing, why is that?
Second opinions are good, but this whole sitaution came out of no where in between a new job and a wedding, until Friday they hadn't really done anything besides take crazy pics of my eye, we had been letting the eye cure itself.
These docs are specialists in all this but I wish they could use more of a team approach and let me on the team. And this one nurse ahhhh. I'm not playing nice with her anymore.
It is so depressing to go to this office where Steve and I are about the only people there under 75.

Make the dude give you a concrete explanation. Informed consent. If he isn't including you, ask him to refer you to someone who will. Also, if you feel like his staff is rude or making you feel uncomfortable, tell him. Often doctors don't get feed back on their staff and can be completely oblivious to a crusty old nurse who has a bad attitude. He should be made aware so he can make changes to affect his quality control.

Thanks man, I know all that stuff. I just needed to have a little internet tantrum. I think most people would be happy with the care I've recieved. I just have a really low tolerance for medical stuff. Having the goo left in my eye wasn't cool and they will here about that.
I can buy that my condition is confusing. The doc has clearly explained that. I ask lots of questions.
At first it seemed certain I had Central Serous Retinopathy and now it looks it may be Histo something. Treatment is similar for both.
Anyway I'll be seeing a different doc next time as this one is taking a leave.

I sorta like the nurse that came and shot me up with morphine. Then she shot me again with relaxers. She wasn't great to look at but hey everything is kinda skewed when your sideways and in lots of pain. Anyway she had a better bedside manner than the goofy doctor.

Great suggestion, now she'll fit right in at the Kroger on Euclid. Its so nice having Elvira Mistress of the Dark around the house. Man you should've seen her after she fished that goo out of her eye...so full of rage. It was a beautiful thing.Horatio Felacio wrote:start wearing a cape. this will make you feel better when you go to buy groceries at night, or to eat people.
I see they are still lopping off mountains in Eastern Kentucky. Electricity isn't cheap.
