Most of my passions compete for weekend time, meaning I can do one or the other but not both (ie--climbing, skydiving, snowboarding, waterskiing & hashing). It seems that when I am really into something, I throw myself into it so that I can see the fruits of my efforts (for climbing, that would be sending a route/problem that I couldn't a while back). Since I have gotten into rock climbing here, I've let my skydiving rig get out of date, my waterski gear is dry-rotting in the closet and I have no clue of the hashers in the area.

I find that during the work week, I am catching up on the stuff 'normal people' do on the weekends (laudry, cleaning, etc)...and fill in the free time with running, family/friends, and reading.

Here's some nostalgia from my split personalities:

Jeesh, no--we were about 6000 feet up.
It was taken by Thom van Os, who climbed out & hung from the bottom of the basket. We were doing a 3 count, to exit & he dropped from the balloon less than a second before Miss Lovely Lisa & myself, for the photo opps.

Nice! What is "hashing" though? Do I need to visit Amsterdam to go "hashing"?

Mountain Biking, Road Biking, and Whitewater Kayaking. I've been wanting to get into Yoga or Chi Qong but haven't been able to make the committment with everything else i have going on. I used to love playing Ultimate but since i broke my knee I can't run anymore :( sometimes i throw the frisbee around for old times sake.

Over my life I have been really into tennis (haven't played in years but used to be able to do that leaping into the air first serve that would break your racket), weight lifting, bicycle touring, mountiain biking with my dog, running, gardening, cooking, sound engineering (live and studio), playing in bands, dating younger women, drinking heavily, used to smoke two packs a day, throwing darts, playing pool, swimming, mountaineering, canyoning...

Lately I've gotten back into jogging a little and I try to climb every weekend. I'm nursing an old dog through his last days, though, so I stay closer to home than I'd like and I spend a lot of time walking very very slowly with him, poised to pick him up when he falls down. I've also been making a lot of art and recording an album. I hope to revisit all of the above activities except for smoking 2 packs a day. That was bad.
