I stopped by Mark's gear shop & he has plenty of Beal ropes, cams, La Sportiva shoes, etc. He really wants to clear out his inventory so check it out.

I don't know what building code in in effect in Torrent, but I get the sense that there could be a few 'issues' with the building as it's shaping up, particularly as a restaurant. Mark wouldn't be the first business owner to go out on a limb and 'just build something' without paying a lot of attention to building (and other) codes. I don't know exactly how the federal Americans With Disabilities Act is implemented in Kentucky, but I'd guess that if the local code authorities decide to crack the whip on those issues, then Mark would have some headaches.Flash wrote:I don't think the building at the via ferrata can be used by the public until it is finished. Damn building department. It's a code thing.

Good point. The real problem is he needs to submit a "stamped" set of architectural and structural drawings for a building permit. The rustic charm of rural Kentucky is on the run and civilization is on the way!
I heard Wal-mart is "in talks" with Miguel about building a supercenter in his parking lot.
