wow.. you need to get a sense of humor cause you're way to sensitive to make it through next week let alone the rest of life.
i have a really hard time believing that you're serious and not just messing around, ie: being a whiny b**ch to satire people who are whiny b**ches. have you ever even been to a bucks game? do you see the people from michigan crying and complaining? do you really think that those people are that serious?
bottom line: grow up and find a sense of humor.

Excuse much? Not everyone in Somerset! Some of my favorite people in the world are from Ohio! The only place I know where everyone hates Buckeyes is Somerset

What I love about running is you can meditate while running. It's a peaceful place.

Yeah, he makes a great case against trashing Ohioans eh? Calling a group ignorant is sure to get you a big hug.busty wrote:WTF?!hopelesslycruel wrote:How friggin' ignorant are you?

well, whether or not this thread is a hoax i would like to say that i find it humorous that every time there is an accident to a hiker, climber, other rec person in the gorge proper/improper, it is nearly always brought about by some *cough* ky *cough* climber that they must be from ohio.
now, rather than getting all offended by this brash abuse of my homeland i've come to the conclusion that people from ohio are no more likely to get injured than people from other states. there just must be more people from ohio who are active and outdoors than from other states. it is just a statistical thing.
so hopelesslycruel, just sigh. no one hates you really really, yet.

I know that you believe that you understood what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

meetVA, I agree, it is because more people from Ohio travel to the Red than any other state..and not just climbers.
I have never had anything 'written' on my car but I have noticed for a very long time now the bad attitude on this board and elsewhere towards people from Ohio. I am not usually offended by it, esp when I realize it's just jealousy...I mean everyone know that people from Ohio pull WAY harder than people from 'other' states and esp from KY....

Takes all kinds. Most everyone I meet climbing at the Red are good people. Nothing stolen and nothing broken into, wipe the dirt off and move on.
Did meet a amusing old man the other day at the Shell station. Noticed our OH plate and struck up a conversation. Explained he was from nearby and was a truck driver. Explained that KY has good friendly folk, salt of the earth, etc. Then when on to rant about the Nazi's and communists in California and Ohio. As he blew cigaratte smoke in our faces, he reasoned that he could be arrested in California for that same offense! The diatribe continued with Hilter references and OH nazi cops trageting his truck.
We took a real lik'n to h'm 'cause he had already explained he was real friendly.

You guys are cracking me up. Nowhere did I imply that all climbers were ignorant. That question was aimed at the poor soul that finds some kind of self worth in writing stupid crap on my car.
I just find it funny and sad that people get judged by their license plate!
I'm not sitting at home whining about this, I was just looking for some discussion to see if this was a random act or really a theme I hadn't caught on to...
