Avoiding the crowds this weekend
The Motherlode was pretty much empty. Pretty amazing, really. Ray had to wait a little bit to get on Golden Touch one day but it was no big deal. It's kinda nice to see people's sequences on a route like that.
Does he have a strange bear claw like appendage protruding from his neck? He kep petting it.

The only crowd problem I heard of was from some friends who went to FRC Monday and found the crag to have been taken over by about 30 Czech climbers. Don't they know that group size in Clifty Wilderness is limited to ten people and that to have a larger group requires a Special Use Permit from the Forest Service?

I was bewildered for a moment at Roadside when I saw Chriss up on a route and then a few seconds later he appeared right in front of me on the trail. Ah hah, I didn't realize that he had a twin brother!
