Climbing wall design

Post by Huggybone »

Hey, I'm collecting information for climbing wall designs.
Some things I'm looking for:
Drawings of designs
ideas for adjustable walls
Ideas for making large walls
Ideas for making curved walls
Problems you have encountered with certain designs
saftey information, etc...

I currently have about 10 pages of information I have created on my own, but I was wondering what ideas y'all may have.

Also, if you know of any useful links, feel free to post them.

Tequila and power tools will get'er done.

The one that's standing in Don's garage hasn't collapsed yet.

I can hook you up with some info based on the walls we built at home. I'd rather not type a huge novel of info so PM me and maybe we can hook up a phone call or something.

Actually, Neuro, I'm looking for information for all spaces that would be typical for a home wall. I'm going to build one for a friend this summer, and I want to create a 'catalog' of potential designs so that he can figure out what suits him best.

It's looking like a garage with a 9.5 foot ceiling in a two car garage, but He pretty much just knows that he wants a climbing wall...and has no other constraints, other than that his car still fit in the garage.

In the past I've built two climbing walls in two different spaces. One had a top hinge design (My own design), the other had a bottom hinge design. Bothe were built out of wood, but I have no reason to rule out a metal frame.
