Missing hanger on maypop and the po po on the prowl

Post by Dink Dink »

If anyone cares, one of the anchors on maypop is missing it's hanger. This no longer affects me because I discovered that maypop is the worst climb in the gorge, and no one should ever climb it again. I say take 'em all off. Any climbs worse than maypop? Oh yeah, and there was a roadblock outside of nada tunnel today. Good spot for one, can't even see 'em until you're out of the tunnel. I suppose they're trying to curb the extracurricular activities of climbers and hikers. So make sure your registration is current and your illegal substances are hidden. Peace yo.

Funny how roadblocks often pop up in that spot. It's not a county line or anything, is it?

As for Maypop, I posted something about a year ago about one of those being loose. Someone said they would tighten it but I'm guessing it worked itself loose enough for someone to use it as a souvenier.

oddly, ynp1 and i will agree on something. i think maypop is a super fun route b/c you get to go through such a variety of movements and techniques. then again, i've heard that you either love it or you hate it.
I know that you believe that you understood what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

I also heard that the hangers were manky and one of the bolts was poo! Hence I decided the climb was not worth it.

It was rebolted this winter, but we didn't replace the anchors. Will try to do that next time the team is up there. Also, planning on rebolting Too many puppies.

I'm wondering if Paul got shut down by Brother Stair. It might explain his animosity toward a piece of rock that just stands there by itself not hurting anybody.

it hurts me that it's there and considered a climb.. if it wasn't a climb, that'd be different. quite possibly the dumbest climb this side of the milky way..
