My first ever trip to the Red was in July 2000 and we climbed at Pocket Wall. It was not closed at that time. I thought it was spring of 2001 that Pocket Wall closed.

Hmmm. I seem to remember that when we got to Miguel's in July 2000 we asked him and some other people hanging out there if there were any closures that we needed to know about and they said no (this was also pre-partial Military closure). Also, didn't the 2nd edition of John's guide come out in spring 2000? It didn't mention anything about Pocket Wall being closed at that time, although it did mention several other crags that were closed and that they were only included in the guide for historical reasons. Seems that if PW was closed in spring 2000 that the guide would have had that info, at least for consistency.

Well, that shoots my theory all to hell then. I hope that we weren't outlawing it. If we were, we weren't the only ones as there were about 20 other people who were already there when we got there that day.

can't be draws at pocketwall as there are no bolts. hugh and other hard workin' folks removed all of the bolts. last time i was back there was in the spring of 2000 (not climbing, just on a trail run) there were no signs of people having been there... what a beautiful crag it was.

Pocket Wall was closed when I started climbing in the spring of 2000.

Sorry. I am sure about Hominy Hole. We did remove all bolts (few a very few exceptions). There should be no draws there unless someone has illegally stealthed back in an re equiped something.
I am not sure about PW.
