Great. Just what we need. More #$&*s in ATVs.

Funny, we tell them climbers bring millions to the area, they do nothing. Off roaders, however, have one hell of a LOBBY so the legislators grab $50 million in Federal grants for development...hmm.

I don't mind the ATV's rolling through already developed (or destroyed, your call) mining roads and strip mines. If we could get more use out of areas that have already been ripped up all the better. I just hope this doesn't lead to the development of new trails in unmined areas.

Following up on what Sprag said above, has anyone seen the new Kentucky state promo commercial? I saw it over the weekend here in D.C. while flipping the channels (I think it was on ESPN during an equestrian thing). I didn't see them promoting any ATVers, but I did catch a glimpse of some climbing at what appeared to be the Red. It went by pretty quickly, so it was hard to see for sure. Anyway, I thought it was interesting that the state was using Kentucky's great rock climbing to promote the state, yet haven't even considered (at least it appears from the last info I heard) opening climbing up on public lands, like Pocket Wall.

I haven't seen the promo. But I can attest to the fact that Pocket Wall will probably never open.

As an inbred eastern ky boy; motorcycle maniac turned rockclimber, i think promoting any kind of potential income for buisnesses in any area of eastern ky is a major plus.

CNN - Woman, 70, survives nine-story fall

FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida (AP) -- A 70-year-old woman survived a nine-story fall from a condominium tower Wednesday when she landed on a canopy, officials said.

That might be a cool way to do high boulder problems. Have your friends hold out a tarp.
