i hear a lot of people comment on a route being "classic" in the sense of the flow-rock quality-etc, the general aesthetics of the route being in line with other high-quality climbs.

because all climbs are called either classic or choss?
Ticking is gym climbing outdoors.

Well I'll be, I've done that route. Guess I've never seen it from that angle before.
I see they are still lopping off mountains in Eastern Kentucky. Electricity isn't cheap.
