When my climber goes up without draws my comment is always, "hell yeah free solo baby." But I don't actually let them do it.
Jesus only knows that she tries too hard. She's only trying to keep the sky from falling.

Now, this is our warm up climb for the day and as I'm going through the crux I'm feeling a bit cocky because I'm not pumped and last time I lead this I was. I pull up to the gaston, set my feet and reached for a draw. . .which are still hanging on my belayer's gear loops.
I've taken a fall from that spot ... :D

I did that recently on Aquaduct - got to the 3rd bolt and realized I forgot draws. I just held on until I received draws.

Sco, you should have remained calm and then proceeded to go to the anchors, at which you would yell down to OX and say VICTORY WHIP

I'm wondering if he went all the way back down or just whipped and canabalized the closest draw to where he stopped and used it for the anchors.

I once neglected to take slings on a route and linked the slings of my remaining cams for the anchors. It worked in a pinch

I think Chester got a picture of Arno at the second bolt of a route, just at the moment he realized he had no draws. He held on while someone threw a draw up.

I've heard of God doing that, but in this case I think it was Gaar who put a set on a stick clip and sent them to me. There's a big hold at the 3rd bolt.

actually Meadows is leaving out part of the story, earlier in the day (ie the climb before) she forgot to bring up draws on May Pop as well. Twice in a row that day, i wonder if she'll ever learn

I did ... I learned that I shouldn't go climbing on two hours sleep, it could be dangerous.
