WOw. those are the most obviously FAKE bear prints ever, im very skeptical about there even being a bear in kentucky. No evidence, just rumours

Hehe. That's funny.
The way to tell the difference between a black bear and a grizz is to climb a tree. If it climbs the tree and eats you it is a black bear. If it knocks the tree down and eats you, it's a grizz.
A comment to that map. I saw a mama and baby Grizz at Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico about 10 years ago. I wouldn't call that historic.

wasn't in muir but i saw scat on the approach trail at pebble beach that looked like the bear scat i;ve seen in the smokies. Right on the trail near the arrowhead. Since the area has depopulated a bit this might have become a hospitable habitat.
