Went to B&N last night with J-Rock and we picked up a couple of classics by H.G. Wells ($3.95 apiece! Can't beat that!)..... plus the Jungle Books (thanks, Ho) and the Tao of Pooh. Jared claims he's read the last one about 3 times but still wants to read it again.

three words: used book stores. PERFECT places to get classics for dirt cheap. I've got a copy of Frankenstein that I just love. The endearing part is that every single page fell out of the binding when you turned it. Now it's a stack of pages between the covers.

Not just three words, but three posts!

Has anyone mentioned Joseph Conrad's Heart of Darkness? The
first time I read it I was repelled by the continuous nonstop
introspection. Second time I liked it. It was the basis for one of
my favorite movies, Apocalypse Now. Actually, I thought the
movie was better than the book. The novel's ending sucks.

After I watched Apocalypse Now, Heart of Darkness made more of an impact.
