Cross Cross Training thingy

Hey, this looks like fun! Somewhere between skates and a bike called the Trikke 12:

I saw it in Mountain Gear Catalogue.

is it like an elliptical on wheels?

now you can work out and not be stuck inside but protect your knees too!!!

They say you power it with a skating motion so the two wheels must move side to side... or maybe just up and down and you have to swerve to start? It sounds like it will go pretty fast for something with 12" tires. It costs around $400.

From the site:
Limited first run of the TRIKKE 12 available now!

TRIKKE12 combines the carving thrill and total-body exercise of riding TRIKKE with features for enhanced speed, safety and skill development.

12" inflatable tires provide better traction and smoother ride on most surfaces.
Disc brakes offer greater control and precision slowing and stopping.

Kick tail ensures greater heel stability and support.
Great for fun, fitness and urban transportation, TRIKKE12 allows you to ride your way to better balance, coordination, core stability and strength.
Note the bit about "core stability." Isn't that one of the most important climbing strengths?

What I love about running is you can meditate while running. It's a peaceful place.

Well, if you use it to get to and from work and you drive a Hummer you'll pay for it in, what, a week? 3 days?

Let's see...I live in Henry county...work in Frankfort. It's a 40 minute drive. How long will it take me to get to work on my trike? Oooops...trikke.

Just want to know when I'll need to get up in the morning. :D

You would need to leave for work right after supper. :) You are the poster child for person who should move closer to where she works or find a job she can telecommute to. What the hell ever happened to that anyway? I thought it was proven to decrease all sorts of expensive things (child care, health care, fuel costs, loss of time in the commute, etc.) for the employee as well as improving productivity for the employer. Oh, what was I thinking? That's how things work in progressive parts of the country like the West Coast or the North East. We're here in the Dark Ages where your boss needs to see the fear and loathing in your eyes.
