Nerve damage?
I am not an expert. but, I have had a lot of experience with nerve damage. I have had back sergury to fix a pincked sciatic nerve. I have had sergury on my finger to reconnect a severed nerve (still a bit numb after several years). There is a kneebar in the gym that if I do it wrong I will have numbness in my lower leg for several days. Every now and then, just as you have, I will crank on a hold in suck a way that I am left with numbness. Sometimes the numbness last a few days, sometimes a few weeks, sometimes reoccuring in the same place. Nerves take a long time to heal. The younger you are the quicker you will heal.
The fact that you are having sharp pain indicates that you may have severed the nerve. The same thing happened to me when I severed the nerve in my finger and had to have sergury. The sharp pain is from the signal hitting a dead end. If this is really what is happening with you you should see a doctor as soon as possible, as the success of nerve reconnection diminishes with time. Severed nerves don't always reconnect on their own.
Good luck.

This is what I've been told to do for my nerve damage...
These are sensory awareness exercises.
Beans. Put your finger in a bowl of dry beans & just swirl it around for a while. 10 minutes or so.
Washcloth. Take a dry washcloth & rub the area. For me a regular washcloth hurt too much so I was told to start with a baby washcloth (they are softer) and work up to a tougher cloth.
Keep the jokes to yourself...I know how stupid it sounds.
