Easy Lead Routes
There is either a priest, homosexual, or other perverted joke in this sentence...J-Rock wrote:They are probably open as long as there are not Boy Scouts on them at the time.
Go for that wall at Muir for good, confidence building, easy leads.

Alan, we can always count on you to read a sentence in that way.....
I'm not even sure what you meant by that but the reasoning behind that sentence is the fact that those easy routes at Torrent were put up mainly for the purpose of Boy Scout troops who come and visit the Via Ferrata but also want the experience of rock climbing thrown in. I'm pretty sure anyone can climb on these things, but it wouldn't be too hard to see if Mark's around and ask his ok before getting on them.

Torrent just is NOT the place for a beginning leader to work on their lead head. But then again, I've never climbed any "boy scout" routes.
If it were my property I don't think I'd let the Scouts use it but that's because of their stance on homosexuality. Though they do many great things the Scouts fall right into the pit for teaching bigotry and exclusion. That and I've never been able to start a fire with two sticks and piece of string so I'm bitter.

I never made it to Boy Scout. Just Webelo (sp?). That was back in the days of Richard Nixon when gays were in the closet and the closet was crowded. But when I did reach pubescence, my "friends" in Jr. ROTC taught me how to play "shoot the mortar." Ah, those were the days...
At a costume party one time I met this "girl"* dressed as a Girl Scout. It was hotter than any Catholic schoolgirl outfit I've ever seen. She wouldn't show me how to start a fire with two sticks either...
*I put quotes around girl because she was in her mid twenties with the body of a Playboy Bunny.

There o.k. Me and my wife did them several weeks ago. The two to the way left would be good easy beginer leads (not that great of routes though.) The two farther to the right are better but a little harder, probally a 7 and an 8. For a beginner leader maybe stickclip the first bolt and they would be good.busty wrote:What about the routes at Torrent with the Boy Scout names? Are these ok routes for beginning sport leading? Are these even open to everyone?

Anyway, thanks to everyone who posted info about these routes.
I'm an experienced woman; I've been around... well, alright, I might not've been around, but I've been... nearby.
