Wes, wouldn't that mean that the rope would just draw tight after you fall 12 feet instead of 14? 12' of rope means that you've got 7 feet below the draw and 5' above. That gives you 7'+5'=12' of fall before the rope draws tight. Then you'd need to be belayed by Bubba who weighs twice what you do or you'd stop against the ground before the rope took the full force of the fall.
