Help with a Trip

Post by voltaire »

:D I need some help. I'm president of the Rock Climbing Klub at IIT in Chicago and we're planning a trip to the Gorge over Spring Break and I need some help finding some good guides and lodging and the like. Does anyone know of any cool places to stay or climb or hike or anything like that? Thank you much.

It is March 17-22 but we'll probably only be going for 4-5 days.

Roadside crag has free camping for large groups. But lacks showers or police protection. And as the name implies it is right beside the road. I suggest that you stay in Natural Bridge State Park, it will cost you but it has everything you need and is centeral located in the Red. As for climbing areas, that depends on your skill level, the number of people in your group, and the number of routes you will want to do in a day. If you plan on getting a guide they will decided for you. Remember the Red is a World Class climbing desination IT GETS CROWDED ON THE WEEKENDS.
