It was a pretty easy route, about a 5.4-5.5. I placed 6 cams and 1 tri-cam.
I was pretty happy with most of my placements except for one cam. It was too open and a little off-set. I also needed to extend (or not place it there) one piece. I had some rope-drag but not too much. It was a very short route. I climbed to the top, rapped and cleaned the route. I was pretty stoked!! Next time I want to belay the second. There are a few stout trees at the top to use for excellent anchors. Now it's on to some harder/longer routes.

good work man but get back down here and the hell outta logtown actually, how is it there? i'm from youngstown and that would be pretty close, though i'd head to morgantown with cooper's before i'd be there probably..

Logtown isn't too bad. The routes are pretty short 40-50' and mostly all sport. If you can climb 5.10-5.11 there are a lot of routes for you to choose from. The crag is really pretty easy to find and the approach is very easy.
i did my first trad route at Devil's lake up here in wisconsin this weekend and had a beautiful day to do it. i did a few routes at the red a few weeks ago but the routes i did this weekend where much longer and it they were harder routes too. the best part was that i got BOOTY on my first route, a white alien! i was pretty stoked. hopefully i'll get on some trad lines at the red sometime this summer

What route did you lead? My first lead climb was about nine years ago on Queen's Throne. My first fall on a trad lead was on Peter's Project. There are a lot of great moderate trad routes at Devil's Lake.
Life's too short to drink cheap beer or cheap coffee.
