Adams State College is in Alamosa COlorado, in the San Luis Valley. It is a beautiful place with fast easy access to good climbing, mountain biking, skiing (great backcountry), good ice climbing, hiking, backpacking, flyfishing and much much more!
The valley is an extremely laied back place that is wonderful to live in!

so there. This Job is set up as an internship so you can get college credit for it, either in rec, outdoor edu. or education, that will depend on your school. I took it as a fun job that was where I wanted to live for a bit between College and Grad School.
The pay isn't much, but with free room, and some free food it all works out well, I ahve been able to climb and ski alot while remaining in budget.
if you have any questions, or want to learn more please feel free to contact me here, or e-mail me.

I'm telling you it is cool stuff. Climbing: Penitente Canyon is an hour away, the Black Canyon is about 2.5 hrs, there ia great Alpine climbing (9 14ers surround the valley), Skiing at Wolf Creek (460 " of snow fell there this year), Ice routes from WI1 to WI6 and Mixed from M2 to M7 all within 1 hour.
And The views, Damn, I'll have to post the view out me front door this evening

strum,
I run the adventure programs dept. at EKU, so I'll pass this info along to some of the Rec students here that are looking for internships. I have a guy that would be perfect for the job... he's already done an internship for me and has all the qualifications you mentioned... when are you leaving?
i saw this job advertised on blue fish last year... did you just take it recently?
