My Boreal Aces are super comfortable and I can wear them all day on multi-pitch routes without needing to take them off.

ok, so everyone is spouting about how comfy their shoes are on multi pitch routes....so my question is 1) where do you climb multipitch in the Red that lasts "all day"
and 2) if you are up on a "multi pitch", then why in the world would you need to put sandals over your shoes? Am I missing the link here?

I am old too, but I would never double knot my shoes...much easier to trim the laces...quit being so lazy.

This is not too difficult to understand:

1) Unfortunately all day multi-pitch is not an option at the Red
2) The sandals were for muddy areas (not multi-pitch).

I was just trying to point out that comfortable climbing shoes do exist.

Thank you J-Rock for the clarification. I guess I should use more picturesque descriptions in my postings. :D

I assumed it would be clear I was referring to multipitch out west where the big rocks live.

For me, not all day. But, unless it is really muddy, I do stay in them for a couple hours - climbing, belaying, peeing, and moving from climb to climb in one small area. It usually takes a good bit of cleaning the soles before each climb - a real nuisance.

No defense here. You are right, of course. The laces in the Mythos run through circuitous tunnels around the back of the shoe and make pulling them through a chore... but that's just an excuse... I go fix 'em up right now.

Doesn't have anything to do with lazy or length of laces. I can't tie a good bow, so I double knot. Has something to do with my left brain or lack thereof.
What I love about running is you can meditate while running. It's a peaceful place.

you know rick..I just asked my wife, and she says she stands around in her shoes alot too...climbed together for 5 years, and I never knew that...lol..I am in serious trouble now. I'd rather switch to my sandals than clean my shoes. I actually like the original idea...
