nice old schools pics tbone...

this one made me misty....

Image

we used to go into Miguels/Search for Adventure when we didn't have money for a guidebook... we'd go to the counter behind Chuck there and flip through the guidebook (stones of years) and then go try to find the place based on memorized directions... we usually missed and ended up doing stupid weird FAs in the backwoods choss.

ahh, that was 13 years ago? holy crap i should be climbing better and my spray list should be much bigger. well, at least i'm still getting out there and climbing 5.fun as hard as anybody. :D

Yep, Miguels. I *think* that is pretty close to the setup when I went there first, about 6.5 years ago.
There have been many changes and additions since then...

Exactly.

Man I remember talking to that guy and had no idea who he was, olde school for sure. Nice to get a little nostalgia from the good old days when the facilities consisted of the love shack and an outhouse and you could stash your gear inside Miguels' for the day.

Thanks!

I remember one day I walked into muigels, looked around, noticing the place looked realy nice. I asked muigel, he said, hey, I've got to make it nice for tourists, but not too nice or the climbers won't come!

Personally, I'm glad to see it looking nice. If only the climbers would clean out the sink in the back...
