as a person who does not necessarily believe that the sun rises nor sets on the outcome of a uk basketball game i was suprised when confronted with some of the fan antics. (some are really cute like 95 year old ladies putting on blue beads and cheering the team on). how can someone get so emotionally involved in a basketball game that they act as thought they are about to cause their own anuerism? crazy!

i would rationalize the whole experience with a "well you care about what you care about" but don't we need a little perspective here and rage therapy?

maybe the basketball games are people's "rage therapy". for the most part they are non-violent and involve a lot of blowing off of steam.. a few huge exception come to mind, though.

i guess growing up in lexington, ky may have an effect on me...the whole city revolves around UK and the men's basketball/football teams

it's hard not to love UK if you live in the city...blue is everywhere....

no matter where i live in this world i will always bleed blue

My Grandmother went through UK's nursing program during the war. I know for a fact since then she has listened to or watched every UK men's basketball game. If you happen to call her during a game she doesn't answer the phone, if you call right before you'll get a really short conversation with, "... nicetalkingtoyoubye <click>" at tip off.

Now that I'm a UK student maybe I should go to a game?
