No, all faith is not a good thing. Too many have done too much under the guise of "faith" or a higher power.
The theory of evolution is just as stupid as the theories of gravity and electromagnetism.

I agree. The "faith" practiced by my born-again uncle (and some former friends and 9/10's of the worthless fuckers I went to school with before moving the fuck out of Western Kentucky) is an ugly, evil, hateful thing. There is nothing good about it. Expecting women to keep their mouths shut, condemning people for being anything other than "born-again," arguing for the death penalty but against allowing a woman with water where her brain used to be to die...

Buddhism is ok. The idea that everything is interconnected (all is one) is nice. Meditation is also nice. And I'm not using the lame definition of nice as "good."

Hey, Ho, what is the sound of one testicle clapping?

see ho, they fell for it. people in the US only want to bash what they perceive as christian religious fanatics...you were "safe", because buddhism is so, shall we say, "artsy fartsy"....it's the sad, pathetic catch 22 of so called open minded people...the religous people who voted for Bush are ignorant asses...the religous people of non-mainstream faith are to be revered....it really stems for our need to bash the majority, in order to feel superior..we all do it in some form, to allow our ego to elevate itself. if we think of ourselves as contemporary and open minded, then we feel good about ourselves. democrats kill unborn babies. republicans kill inmates. neither respect life. it's hypocrisy all around.

Oh you poor, poor Republicans! Always being put down. Always the losers, even when you win. The whole world is out to get you because you're right and they're not. Oh whoa is you! Republicans are all honest, upright, respectable people and everyone else is ignorant, dirty sinners.

what does "sinner" have to do with it? why is every republican a christian in your book? wasn't Clinton a religous man? wasn't Carter a religous man? your issue is deeper than politics I'm afraid.

re-read my post before blowing a gasket. I said BOTH of the major parties are hypocrites. remove thy blinders.....er, um...sinner!

actually that is very buddhist to the core. we can't truely know anything because our words are a reflection of the defanitions we attach to them. they vay from one individual to another and can never fully grasp what is really real.
we have to transcend all attachments to our desires and that will eliminate suffering and lead us to nirvana.
to the buddhist this is "really real"
hmm...not sure what to put yet
