A Vegas tip, if you go the second or third week in December it is considered the off season out there, you can get rooms cheap and the crowds are down. Check out the Stratosphere, a bit cheesy, but still on the strip. We got a room for 17$ a night and it is located at the north end of the strip so it is not a far drive to RR.
I see they are still lopping off mountains in Eastern Kentucky. Electricity isn't cheap.

Hey, in Moab now after a pretty cool week in the Boulder area. Did some fun routes along with some cool bouldering. Even got to help with a full scale rescue. Some guy was dropped about 40 feet while on TR!!! We were in a kinida remote area, so the RMNP rescue team did a 250+ foot lower, crossed a creek then winched him up the other side. Crazy, crazy day...

Wes:

You'll dig Red Rocks, it's funky. I was out there last December with Rhino. Get a hotel room, it's so cheap they practically give it away. Stay at the north end of the strip because you'll be closer to the RR. We stayed at the Sahara, it was dirt cheap. It was a clean and descent room but the price was low because they want you to gamble in their casino, bunch of suckers. Circus Circus and the Stratosphere should be real affordable as well.

Be wary of their guide book out there. I can't remember the name of it but it sucked.

Tons of stuff to climb there.

If you've got an off day and wanna have some non-climbing fun go to Paradise City. Ask for the girl that can do the spilts while in a handstand. Such talent!
