Red River Gorge Heroes
8)The Red is part of a geological feature called "The Cliffs" that runs from above Morehead down into Tennessee. There is high quality rock all down through there.
Check Bee Rock down in the Dan'l Boone as well as Blue Heron for developed areas that see almost no traffic. Go to topozone, find Bee Rock, then track the Rockcastle up or down and look at the cliffs. Some appear to be around 300 feet tall or taller. I'm getting really psyched on the idea of bushwacking and adventure climbing down through there. My only warning is that the ticks are horrible in the DB so coat your shoes, socks, and legs or pantlegs with Off or other deet product or risk Lyme disease. I forgot one time when hiking down by Dog Slaughter Falls (some neat opportunities to climb some little stuff over water) and my waist line was loaded with seed ticks (oh the misery).
Hey Rick, is it possible to top out somewhere along Roadside and then hike over and rap into Muir? That would be AWESOME... well, as long as it was possible to go back.

The Bee rock area is not so hot. I grew up around there and have walked much of the rock in the rockastle gorge. It's consistently chossier than anything in the red. There are a few good buttresses with routes and more potential, but it's no gold mine. Nothing even close to 300' PM me if you want more details.
