Harness: asymetrical design

I just got a harness that I ordered through the mail. Its an Arc'terax Targo. I once used an older one that was quite nice. However, on the one I just recieve, the gear loops on the right hand side are too far forward, the ones on the left are too far back! If I center them on my hips, my tie in point is three inches to far to the right!

Questions:
1) Why on earth would a harness be designed that way?
2) What harness reccommendations do you have? (I need my loop to be symetrically placed).

I've had a Targa harness for a couple of years and the gear loops are symetrical. I just looked at a new one and they were just like my old one. Did you buy it from a site that sells "blems" or "seconds"?

Look at the picture of the Targa on MGEAR and you will see that they look to be evenly spaced.

The harness I am looking at getting next is the Misty Mountain Turbo or Sonic. The same harness except the Sonic has adjustable leg loops. I need em for some mountaineering I'll be doing next year.

If you bought the wrong waist size the gear loops will be askew. Maybe you are not the same size or they changed their sizes.

The funny thing GWG, I looked at the same photo and thought they looked asymmetrical.

I need some of what you're smoking.

I just looked at it again and they seem to be evenly spaced between the center belay loop. Must be semantics.

For whatever reason, I thought Arcteryx had discontinued this harness. I've seen it on sale in the past for deep discounts.

Huggy, what size did you buy? Are you able to pull the buckling strap almost all the way to the stitched end?[/img]

petzl calidris or corax. or wildcountry's dual buckle model, i forget what its called but i'm sure you are aware of the harness i'm talking about.

I've climbed in Arc'teryx harnesses for a long time, including the Targa. They don't make them that way on purpose. Maybe you got a blem. Take it back and guilt them into hooking you up with a Vapor.
If not, just try to get a Targa that isn't f-ed up. It's a good harness.

Sounds like its too big and when you cinch it up its that way.
