Gorge Ice

Its cold and there is ice out there. The cone at Torrent was about 25 or 30 feet tall. There was a flow just past the 11 wall that was climbable, proven by watching Barry and Jack scrape their way up it. As cold as it has been I'm guessing there are other spots. So get out before the great melt starts later this week.

I'm not trying to drive YOU outside, unless you've recently taken up ice climbing. Well maybe thats not entirely true. Walking around in the woods with snow on the ground and looking at ice is very relaxing. I have not done a damn thing all winter and was about to implode if I didn't get outside and do something. So a cold walk in the woods did me some good, free therapy. That and its damn fun to huck rocks at ice and watch it fall.

We had a nice little snow fall yesterday so we took the dogs to the local forest to play. It was beautiful! Until I came across a set of 4x4 track prints in the field, what a bunch of a-holes! There maybe snow on the ground but it still is a forest damnit! We met up with my friend Lynn & her three dogs and they had a blast!

yeah,
took the Duck to the local dog park and he had a blast.
He had major cabin fever!
I think the dogs prefer playing in the snow.

Hunter is a true snow dog! He can't get enough of it. Forget the snow-angels, he just goes face first into a full out roll! Poor Raven has been battling the snowball build up! After the accident we had to cut the hair out between her pads due to serious burr impaction so now all the snow freezes up between her toes. She'll run for a bit then flop into the snow to chew out the offenders.

i have noticed that many of the road-cuts in eastern ky have/had massif ice flows. i do not own ice tools but if i did i could have done many lines beside the road over the past 2 weeks.

the cut in the hill at Covington has been ready for a couple weeks.
