I'm getting rid of some used books...

Post by Wicked Tribe »

I have some books I'd like to get rid of. Demosthenes and I are planning on moving west the microsecond she graduates and we need to unload a lot of accumulated baggage. I actually have a lot of fiction (mostly Sci-Fi) that I'd like to get rid of too and some other misc stuff, but I'm only going to list the climbing/outdoors related ones.

I'm not asking anything for any of them, if you'd like to donate a small amount to the moving fund it would be greatly appreciated but not required. I won't pay for shipping on any of these, but will make arrangements for pick up or you can pay shipping. All the books are as is. Some have been writtne in, or have highlighted sections. I'll make a note of the general conditions of each book. There are a few that are like new.

Contact me at ascentionist@yahoo.com (I don't check my PM too often, email is better)

Here they are:
Seneca The Climber's Guide, Revised ed. Tony Barnes (some writing, climbs I managed to do are highlighted, I only took two trips there)

Climber's Guide to NC, 3rd ed. Thomas Kelley (lots of writing, most extensively used guidebook I own outside of my RRG ones)

Rick Thompson's New River Rock ( a little writing)

Dixie Cragger's Atlas (some tick listing going on, but I don't think I've climbed anything in the book, it was a gift that didn't get as much use as I would like for it to have)

Selected Climbs at RRG, Jarrard and Snyder (heavily used but intact. A lot of highlighting and writing)

Red River Gorge Bouldering, Redmond (moderately used, writing and highlighting)

Hueco Tanks 2nd ed, Sherman (lots of writing, but that was only because I was bored and daydreaming of going, making lists and etc. Have never been to HT, good condition otherwise)

Fall of the Phantom Lord hardcover, biography of Dan Osman

Rappelling 2nd ed, hard cover, Tom Martin (like new)

Hiking the Big South Fork 2nd ed, Coleman and Smith (mostly like new)

How to Climb 5.12, Eric Horst (some highlighting)

Flash Training, Eric Horst (same)

Rock N Road, Tim Toula 1st ed, (some highlighting and notes)

And I have a 1st edition of John's guide that I should auction or something. I don't want to part with it but if you make the right offer its yours.

We have to go climb again before you leave. Would be cool to knock off Long Live Trad or The Quest or something long and stellar.

If that Redmond guide has notes about all your "secret spots" I'll take it off your hands. Email sent.
Screw you guys. I'm going bowling.

OK, most of the books have been claimed. All but the Flash Training and Tom Martin's Rappelling. Any takers? I might be able to track Tom Martin down to get him to autograph his book for any of you lurking sport rappellers out there.

Oh, and Artsay, didn't get back to you, but the DCA is yours.

Anyone besides longlegsrule intersted in some fiction stuff? I've got a list, I just need to post it. Lots of sci-fi/fantasy and Stephen King-esque stuff. Basically a good cross section of everything I've read since I was in high school.

King, Stephen King? I'll take any King off your hands. You wouldn't happen to have an original edition of The Gunslinger now would you?
