so.. did i just miss something or was this movie less comedic than it was kind of disturbing? i mean, yeah, some parts were funny in how utterly ridiculous they were.. but for the most part i was pretty disturbed.. nothing like army of darkness..

Yer mistaking Evil Dead with it's remake Evil DeadII, which is nearly as disturbing but much more comic. As in three stooges on acid.

Evil Dead is the "serious" of the three. Evil Dead 2: Dead my dawn is the "we started seriously but about half way through we said screw it, let's make fun of ourselves". Army of Darkness is total camp.
