True. I did the 50+ hour (sometimes 70, or even 80) work weeks for 6 years before semi-retiring. It was a good thing, as I learned a well paying, in demand skill.
excellent...I am with you..I just came off of a job having 60 plus hour weeks...in early 2004, I worked 117 out of 120 days....something like 60 days straight without a day off. no more of that for me.
In the summer of 1999 I worked 90 some days in a row at Subaru (preparing for a model change) and worked many double shifts. I didn't go climbing much for a few months, but the overtime pay was outrageously good and I couldn't resist the extra money.

That whole work thing will make you old before your time. It is good to have a balance though. Americans typically work way too much, gotta have the new house, new car, and all the toys. Problem is no time to enjoy them. We work our asses off for that golden retirement just to die in a few years. Don't get me wrong, work can be very rewarding. Just don't kill yourself doing it.
