FS Road 9
FS Road 9
Haven't been in the area lately. Red River Climbing.com had previously posted that Forest Service Road 9 was closed to vehicles for road repairs once again. Is the road still closed to vehicles?

I wonder about that road, whether they'll have the money to fix it this year. That collapse is very big and it's been undercut down 30 feet below the thing. Last time they fixed it there were cracks in the surface right after they were done.

Man, Ivan ate those banks UP. The first time I drove that way I thought it was amazing the road could sit on that steep of a face. All that has been seriously undercut. I want to go see it. Maybe next weekend.

The unofficial word from the Forest Service is that they are looking at a temporary fix to open the road back up. They are also bringing in an engineer from their regional office in Atlanta to look at it. The regional engineer will also be assisting them in evaluating a long term fix.

Any update on Forest road 9
Is the Forest Service Road 9 still closed? How far can you get into the area? Some say you can get to Pebble beach, but other says the road is closed about a mile before PB.
Thanks for any info.
