gorgeous Saturday

Post by Guest »

there were 18 people and 4 dogs out at Funk Rock City yesterday. That sounds like a huge crowd, but that cliff is so nicely spread out with such a great variety of routes that it never seemed crowded. The people there all kicked ass, too. The weather was PERFECT. Even the icy river crossing didn't hurt too badly. My favorite route of the day was Red Hot Chili Pepper. The residual high from the day will carry me for days! I want to thank all of y'all for such a great day. I wish I could have stayed in Lex last night to party with you guys.

I hope everyone got out to enjoy the unbelievably gorgeous weather. :D

Glad you all had a great Saturday! I helped my daughter design and make her wedding invitations yesterday. My phone rang with a tempting climbing outing, but there will be other pretty Saturdays. My baby's wedding comes first.
What I love about running is you can meditate while running. It's a peaceful place.

Was in the Smoky Mtns. and found some nice bouldering at Look Rock - big boulders. Had shoes, a little chalk, no pad, no spotter, fussy spouse "is that all you ever think about...climbing?" but still got a few moves out and had a decent time. Has anybody been there before? I'd go back again but maybe on the way to something better.

I made it out there last fall for an afternoon. Found the stuff under the observation tower after some serious looking, and found out that the better ones are the ones under the parking lot. I'll try again out there next year.

I think that climbhigh and mrs. climbhigh went out there once too.
Screw you guys. I'm going bowling.

KD, I think that the park is ok with it. A ranger stopped by while I was poking around and asked if we were camping down there. I told him I was just looking for some climbing. He said ok, and as long as you aren't camping it's ok. I either got a nice ranger or they just don't care about climbing down their parks.
Screw you guys. I'm going bowling.

:) I could see you courtsey as you wrote the last line. :)

When is that stupid wedding going to be over with so we can go attack the "SECRET CRAG" again? ;)
